WOW. Okay, so we did two major activities: construction work and teaching. First, the construction work. When filling the cement with water, our job was to mix the mixture, move the mixture, and then apply the mixture. It may sound simple, but wow. The heat made it 10000x worse. However, it was pretty satisfying to apply the mixture to the brick. When I took charge of this part, I actually felt as if I was constructing the building for the students. I actually felt as if I did something for them, so that felt nice. In between these sessions, it was pretty terrifying since the area was not too safe. There were random holes where you could fall down immediately (it’s about 4 floors high). However, this was the thrilling part. I had another mission to accomplish: try not to fall into the holes! Next, teaching. We went to a middle school near our dormitory and individually had groups of 4~5 students to teach how to make slides with Canva. I felt like a celebrity. Everywhere I walk and every time I talk, they would look at me with their puppy eyes, and as if they saw a person talk for the first time. Today was a long day, where I did not even have the strength to play in the pool. Nevertheless, I was able to feel as if I physically contributed to helping this community, which was the whole goal of mine.
