For the Korean project called the “media,” I created a YouTube video regarding the negative impact of influencers on individuals. The video is a parody of a character Joo Hyun-young, who is a famous actress that went viral for MZ style news interviews. Through interviews of SFS students and a mixture of comedy, the four minute video received the most recognizable and high quality video, ranking first in class. Through the research, I was able to notice the harsh beauty standard South Korea has that may negatively impact individuals’ mental health. With the utilization of my acting skills, I was able to film and edit this video with enjoyment.
