HELLO! WELCOME TO MY PAGE!!!!
My name is Julia (Tae In) Yang, and I’m crazy 🙂
Background
South Korea, Russia, and Canada are the three nationalities I am associated with. Oddly, I lived my whole life in South Korea as a foreigner since I only have Russian and Canadian passports. Although I only have Russian and Canadian passports, I call Korea my first home, followed by Russia and Canada.
My Russian heritage
I gained my Russian heritage from my mother! My maternal great-grandfather was taken to Sakhalin by the Japanese colonial authorities, where he continued the family tree from there. The Russian language was something that I naturally developed over the course of my life as there were constant interactions with Russian relatives, and I visited my relatives’ hometown, Sakalin, about six times a year. Additionally, my grandma owns a restaurant in Russia, which is why the scrumptious Russian food is all I eat at home!
School/academics:
I attended Seoul Foreign School since first grade, and I am planning to graduate here! I am currently involved in the IB program.
