tvN Drama <Drama Stage ‘Everyone Is There’>: FIRST EVER FILMING

19.12.2

Unoffical – 7:34~10:17

After about 3~4 lessons at KIANA Entertainment, I was finally able to film. In the group chat full of extras, my friend from my KIANA class was there, so I was extremely relieved. The filming staff told us to bring a load of stuff: a book bag, textbook, pencil case, and more. I was in a crisis since I only had a math textbook, but I was ready to shine among them. Before arriving at the set, I met with my friend before (mostly for emotional support). For both of us, this filming was the first time. Because this drama is not known yet, I didn’t know who we would see at the set, so it was extra exciting. When we arrived, we left our stuff and stood in a LOOOONG line where the extras would receive a Korean school dress code. “Size,” “M.” “Size,” “S.” This was it. No conversation whatsoever. It was nearly my turn, BUT I didn’t know my size. Imagine wearing a skirt that is not my size. It’s not like I can ask the costume staff whether this size would fit me since this is not a clothing store, nor I can’t come back later since they won’t care about the extras. Although difficult, I chose M, and phew. It was pretty traumatic as the staff looked very tired but articulated their words. Now, it was the time where we would actually film. There were about 6 different scenes with more than 20 angles and retakes for each. It was very fascinating at first, but hearing the same words and tone, it got to the point where I memorized their lines. In the sitting scene, the director instructed us to act like we were talking but not to speak out loud. I was proudly reading my one and only math textbook (not even in Korean) to my friend without making any sounds. At first, it was so funny that I almost cried, but I acted professionally.
